Since that is a living room, I would do the ceiling in white. It will lighten up your room a lot to have a nice fresh clean white ceiling. If it was in a bedroom, that you want to be a bit more cozy, then I would say the same as the walls.

I always paint ceilings the same color as walls but cut the color by 50% on the ceiling. That way when the wall color reflects up on the ceiling, the tones are all evened out and appear to be the exact same color.

For me it is a matter of completeness and cohesion more so than a matter of coziness. A white ceiling looks like someone placed a piece of 8.5x11 copy paper on the ceiling, like the room is a box with a lid put on it.

Especially in this instance with the slopes, nice wood beam, and stone wall, the same ceiling color will connect all of these elements together and to your walls.

I’ve always had white ceilings but I think Kendrah’s suggestion sounds good, interesting to try. BTW, be sure to test Edgecombe Gray in your space before comitting to it. We had our living, dining & entry done it in our last home. It was an expensive mistake , for some reason it read violet & that wasn’t the look we were going for.

I concur that grey can be very tricky and sometimes have a violet undertone. Here's a Kylie M post on finding the right greys.

Thanks for pointing out @K Laurence what a costly mistake the wrong color can be. People on Houzz often suggest repainting large rooms or whole homes a different as though this is all an inexpensive endeavor.
