Zelige would look out of place in your space. I do like the elongated subway shape, and think a creamy white that goes well with your counter material would be a great option.

The elongated subway tiles in your pics look good. I would not tile the side of the kitchen with the big open cut outs into the other room. There is no water or heat there, I see no reason for them. Your paint looks good there and a skinny bit of tile will look skimpy.
