Luxury Vinyl Plank Flooring - Basement Room

We’ve removed the carpet and padding in a basement room. The ceiling is pine wood and we’re going to leave that in as it’s in great shape. Our next steps are to strip the padding glue off the floor and then smooth and level the floor. After that, we’re going to paint the walls and put the flooring in. Looking for 2 recommendations:

1. A Sherwin-Williams paint color for the walls

2. A Luxury Vinyl Plank floor brand including pattern

Not sure what you mean by pattern.

We have Coretec LVP in our current Florida home and will soon be using the brand again in our new Florida home.

Lots to choose from. What do you have upstairs?

I would stay in the light or medium range of wood tones.

You have a blank slate and there are thousands of options for paint depending on your furniture.

Thanks eld6161. By pattern I meant, for example in your Coretec LVP line, things like Ravenswood Oak, Bastion Elm, Cheshire Elm, etc.

Flooret has Modine lvp with micro edges in two widths. They have just added a line of new waterproof laminate. This is a new product. Thicker and more stable over subfloor than lvp. Arista laminate

It is all preference. I like beveled planks. I have Hayes Oak now and will be doing Calypso in the new house. Calypso has 7 different pattern planks. I don’t remember what Hayes has.

Ii like light or medium and not dark.

I’m not a fan of a lot of knots. I saw Sea Salt in a home and it had too many knots for me..
