Off Topic: Trying to catch up on posts

I have tried to catch up on all the posts I have missed as we have had a contractor around for the last few weeks and I have been pretty tied up but still more needed work is almost complete. New soffits and fascia makes the house look better but there are still a few things to do outside if the rain ever stops. We also have bathroom and kitchen work ongoing, but we will get through eventually.

I do still have reblooms, they never stop and a couple more plants have shot up scapes. I noticed. There may be blooms in September again, we will see. You think surely they are done and another one pops up.

Wow, that does sound like a busy time with all the work being done. It will be nice for you once it is done and you can just enjoy it!

I too have some new scapes coming up on Belle Isle Sentry.

Good for you Brad. We have had rains not every day but a least three or four day a week kate. WE have to cut the grass just like may or June since frequent rains make it grow and the weeds are a trial. The grass everywhere is still bright green since the rains have been pretty widespread and often. That cooler temp we had for a few days brought a lot of rain with it. I figured you were getting rains too. WE had two showers today but not heavy. Lots of lightening but the storm was just south of us.

Some teenagers decided it would be fun to drive across the year and knock my raised bed over, messing it up pretty well which was annoying, but we have been so busy with all this work on the house that it still isn't quite back together. I will put a barrier up to prevent it in the future.

Hope the work gets done soon, it gets old dealing with the disruptions. I hope to see some rebloom photos

Thank you, Sherry. I will get some photos up soon. Thank you Maryl. yes it will be nice but we still are going to have new gutters up and a bit of outside before it is through and I am going to paint the front door also. It seems that fixing one thing puts the spotlight on others that need a little attention.

Yes, as you can imagine, I was quite unhappy about the raised bed "attack" . It was done in broad daylight too which seems to make it worse. I assume the same kind of idiocy taht requires attacking mailboxes.

It sounds like you have been busy with all the work on your house. It's nice to know you still have reblooms coming. After this week, my rebloom scapes will be done. We got some small rain showers over the past two days though. It will be interesting to see if I get any more rebloom scapes.

Thank you, Debra. Rain does bring them, even a shower seems to make a difference at least in the blooming. I am beginning to wonder if I will have something blooming in September again. I really thought they were through but no, not quite yet.

House renovations can be such a trial, things never seem to go as smooth as you hope, but I know it will look wonderful when finished. I have a few things to do, but looks like the next week will be the hottest we have had all year. No rain in over 2 weeks here, and then it was not much. I take that back, yesterday morning I got up, and the deck was wet. No accumulation though. Possiblilty of afternoon storms, but we have had that the last 2 or 3 days and nothing here yet. I hate watering, but gonna have to do it.

Lucky you to have rebloom still going. Too bad about the damage to the raised garden bed.. Sounds like your almost to the finish line with the house updates. We have been dry for a couple of weeks but yesterday and today we had some rain.. Humidity is slowing me down so hopefully next week things will get better.

Thank you, Nancy and Julia. It seems like it is one thing after another but everything being done needed to be done. We need to get new gutters now and other things. It seems almost never ending and the weeds never stop.

One rain in August. The watering has become a pain. Despite all the moisture earlier in the summer, as well as later watering, there has been little rebloom. Typical here.

I am sorry the rain has been so uneven. My rebloom is continuing which really is typical here even though there have been a few that never rebloomed before.
