It sounds like you had some bad storms and a ton of rain. We had three rounds of storms, one with dime-sized hail, but there was less than a quarter inch of rain in total. The first one had winds that clocked 58 mph, but the other two had much milder winds. Olfactory Evidence looks good after all that rain, and look at all those buds!

I had ten inches in 12 hours a week ago Saturday……. I had a big painter’s bucket 🪣 out there that was empty. I measured 10 inches the next morning. The water came through the walls into the basement. The rugs all got soaked and had to be disposed of. Then I had to disinfect all the floors with bleach water and steam. It took me and my husband three days to clean out. We did not have sewage Like many people did as we have as we installed a valve that prevents that. Three houses that were next to the Menominee river had their basements swept away and their houses completely collapsed and condemned. One child was almost swept away. Houses all over have debris waiting to be picked up. I’ll say this, I have never seen that kind of lighting! It was nearly constant!

Debra, glad you are ok too! we havent had weather like this in decades…..hope this isn’t the new normal. Not much going on here or on the hosta posts.

Some bad storms it would seem! Glad your trees held up! I always like the look of Feverfew. No blooms here. No rain here. Deer visited a couple nights ago and devoured rose bushes, all the hosta and all the caladiums.

Kate, those darn deer are back, big bummer! I bet you would rather have that wandering cow…..at least those nasty bugs are gone. Have your hosta been deer food before? when the rabbits tear my hosta to the ground it takes a few years to recover….hope yours recover for next season.

Wow, that was some storm you had. Seems like your getting a lot of rain after so many weeks of dry weather. Rain came here but not much of it and most of the other storms have gone around us. Deer still visit here. They decided the sedum would be good to taste.

Sherry, amazingly, deer usually don’t bother my hosta (too busy chomping on my daylilies) . They usually get my caladiums. It has been very hot and dry and I suppose these hosta looked very green and appealing! The roses surprised me. They left not one leaf on them.

For some reason, with much rain the big Hosta is looking like death in my yard. The feverfew looks good and the daylilies are both very nice.
