I've grown Moonflower as an annual here in Massachusetts for eight years and almost always get a glorious display in mid-to-late September. However, this year, ironically after a very hot summer, in late August we are already having cool nights, with low temperatures (just before sunrise) around 50º. I am noticing that though I have a good number of flower buds they are not enlarging as much as I would expect at this time of year. I'm reading that cool nights during or prior to the expected blooming period can create problems with moonflower buds, causing them to not grow or open. Am wondering if anyone has had experience with this?
