That bedding is boring. Right now you have 3 wall colors and a trim color plus the floor and bed. I would go for something with some color & design so all the odd colors tie together.

So obvious that the head board and foot board were not meant to be paired. Put the original headboard back on the bed. Paint the walls the lighter color, the one above the phony chair rail, (which does not belong in a bedroom, meant for dining room).

Now add your inspiration bedding and the brass lamps.

I would purchase a down duvet + a pretty duvet cover. You then can purchase different duvet covers (especially when you find one on sale) and be able to change the look of your bedding every few months if you want. Also, linen bedding is timeless - and can be used in modern bedrooms or very traditional ones - just depends upon how you accessorize it. You can change up how a simple linen duvet set looks by adding different throw pillows + sheets + a throw blanket.

I love linen duvet covers + pillow cases (I don't like linen sheets - I use percale cotton fitted bed sheets instead) - I've purchased many sets over the past 4-5 years (my daughters tell me that I have a linen bedding "fetish").

100% European linen can be expensive - but Amazon has some very reasonable sets that I purchased for my lake house. They also have linen/cotton blend sets (55% linen/45% cotton) that are really reasonably priced. You then can add some colorful/textured throw pillows on your bed + tuck a coverlet over your sheet + place a tri-folded duvet at the end of your bed (and maybe a pretty throw tossed near the bottom of the bed).

Your bed is neutral - a good starting point because quite a few colors/patterns will work (mine is also - it is a tufted linen upholstered bed with nail heads - so, kind of similar to yours - but I don't have the heavy dark wood footboard - personally, I think your bed would look nicer if you removed the wood footboard - you could replace it with a little bench seat at the foot of your bed instead).

Take a look at Pottery Barn's website and look at their beds.

Personally, I wouldn't purchase any more bedding from PB . I had my current duvet sets for my primary home custom made by someone on Etsy who is located in Belarus - the quality is much better than the PB and RH duvet sets that I was replacing (handed down to my sister). The Etsy duvet covers + pillow cases/shams were more $ than some people spend on bedding (and less $ than other people spend) - but they will last FOREVER (as long as they are laundered correctly - not difficult - just use a delicate cycle and don't dry them all the way - easier to simply smooth the wrinkles with your hand if they have just a little moisture left in the fabric - there's no way that I'm ironing - or having someone iron - my bedding!)

When you pull up PB's website - just look at the way the beds are styled. See if any of them provide you with some inspiration re: how you'd like to style your bed.

The duvet sets I purchased on Amazon (for my lake house) are made with 100% European linen - and the quality of the two brands I purchased is the same (or better) as the PB/RH ones - for much less $$!

If you are interested in using a duvet + duvet cover + throw pillows, I can recommend some that are nice (but not expensive) - plus, I can share the seller I purchase bedding from on Etsy (if you want to spend more $). Also, you don't have to purchase a super expensive down duvet. You can use a down alternative if you want (although I love wrapping myself up in a down duvet when it's chilly out!). I used to use the same down duvet insert all year - but I've started having some hormonal issues - so, I change to a silk duvet insert when it's warmer outside.

Will you be keeping your navy accent wall? Will you add a few more photos of the room in order to show the other walls (including furniture/lights/art) that you use in the room?

Also, adding an area rug would be a good addition to the room.
