Gentian fan here too trying to establish the early spring ones which seem stubborn for me. Hope it came home with you ! My nurseries have been so boring for the last few years, (always the same old same old), so I've mail odered some gentians from Edelweiss in Oregon. I'll have to pull up my receipts to remind myself of what they're called
This new one from last spring one put up two blooms, but it seems to be a fall bloomer when I thought I had focused on spring bloomers . I think this one is trumpet gentian, gentiana angustifolia - but clearly I'm confused about gentians and just purchase them willy nilly in the hopes something will come back.
This memoable specimen from spring 2023 to my disappointment, did not come back
I had some sort of gentian years ago at my other house, and it was beautiful, a reliable bloomer that I looked forward to every year. I had one here at this house, too, but I don't think it was the same, or if it was it just never thrived under the conditions here.
