No experience with that particular one, but the other day I got a phone call that the computer game system (forget the name) I ordered from Walmart is ready for shipment and if I didn't order it to "call this number". At first I was like whaaaaa? uh oh. But then I decided to ignore it.

They send unsolicited blood check kits. Supposedly a real company but gets bad reviews for various reasons. Who in the world would send their blood to someone they've never contacted in advance and especially something that just arrived in your mailbox??? One it's scammy, and two, maybe I watch too much TV, but they could use it to plant evidence or something LOL.

EDIT: I read some of the newest comments. Looks like United Healthcare was/is? sending them to their policyholders without notifying them. Do you happen to have UHC medical/Medicare insurance?

FWIW, I've had that happen with cologuard, et al. I got 2 different kits - one from a provider and one through medicare advantage - and I'd no idea who sent them at first - not the same as blood, tho.

As the Reddit comments point out - how on earth can one provide their own blood samples in any reliable way?

Sending in a poop sample is quite different, I think 🤨

@straitlover we do have UHC but only through Dec 31 then we will have Humana . We get whatever DH’s retirement plan says. I will toss it if it comes. THANK YOU!🙏

Gotta wonder who's paying for those and how much they cost? Seems like throwing $$ away, IMO, but somebody's profiting, I'm sure.

We got the cologuard kits too- we have IBX insurance. Totally unsolicited.

I would normally do the test, but 2 years ago I did one and had a false positive. Obviously there is no way to be sure it is false without having a colonoscopy, which I did. I had had a colonscopy about 3 years prior to that, ( I think it was my 3rd) and have never even had a polyp or anything removed for testing.

Anyway I had the 4th colonoscopy and was as they say, clean as a whistle lol and don't need to do it again for a longgggggggg time. I will not be doing cologard. DH will

I received the same message from my post office that I was receiving this package. In researching what it is, I found that it is indeed a scam, flagged by the BBB. You are NOT TO OPEN IT; wrap it in plastic and dispose of it. You are also supposed to report it to scamtracker.bbb.org.

The ones I get from UHC are not a scam. Unsolicited, though.

What a waste for UHC to send out a bunch of stuff people are throwing away. Though I suppose there is some scheme for them to make money off of it.

Well, for those who don't dispose of the tests but instead use them and come up positive and are treated earlier that they would be otherwise, both the person and UHC benefit by not having to pay for a larger later stage problem.

@lucillle I just saw this old thread. The test never came. UHC is STILL sending us statements ONE YEAR after the care was administered. We have had Humana since January 1 2026.

I have no idea what is going on with their company. We never had such delinquent paperwork all the years we had UHC. They have definitely fallen on bad times with their bookkeeping lapsing to this degree. c
