Sorry, why are you keeping the cabinets? They are dated and for not that much extra you can get a new vanity.

No need to do a custom wall to wall vanity.

Doing everything else will make this vanity look shabby.

I prefer the look of free standing vanities. You can even get vanities with top and sink included.

Tile most likely run under the vanity so take that into consideration with your new selections since you are no changing the vanity. I would rip the Band-Aid completely and change the vanity as well, save another year if need be but do not do this half way.

New vanities are counter height, like your kitchen counters. Allow for deeper drawers and more space under sinks. When ordering, get pull-out shelves for under the sink so you don’t have to get a flashlight out to find the item in the back.

You are not putting a shower where that tub is, unless you remove that window and replace with a glass block or transom. That means exterior work too, to replacing siding. Windows are not meant to be waterproof from the interior, and those would be cold, invite mold, and be dangerous if you slipped.

I really just want tile options vs opinions on my vanity. Anyone have ideas for that?

Have you gone to any tile stores to get an idea of what you want? That's your best bet and then come back with your selections for opinions.

Have you considered mosaic tile!? They are very durable and unique

Question - does the bathroom not have a shower currently? It seems odd that there is only a tub in the primary bathroom.

Do you have any inspiration photos of bathrooms that you like? There are SO MANY possible tile selections for your floor and walk in shower that it's difficult for us to make tile selections without any direction from you (other than wanting a clean, natural look).

Do you like natural stone? Would you like some color in the tile or do you want all of the tile to be very neutral? Will you be using a solid shower base or have a custom tiled shower pan?

Browse your local slab yards for ideas for a natural stone for your countertop and shower trim. I am partial to quartzite. Does natural stone fit your budget? Expect to pay $3K to $4K for a full-size slab, unless you find a remnant that you can use. Avert your eyes from cristallo quartzite, unless your budget is unlimited.

Marble tile is stunning, and it is difficult to say "no" to it. Do you have hard water? Do you have a housekeeper who is willing to keep up with the maintenance required for natural stone tiles in a shower? Are you willing to pay $40 PSF for tile? If not, think about porcelain tile.

Decide on your layout before choosing your finishes.

Do you plan to keep the same footprint? What are the dimensions of the alcove for the tub? The minimum interior width for a shower is 30 inches, but 36 inches is more comfortable. Is there enough space for a 36-inch wide shower? Does it make sense to sacrifice the linen cabinet for a longer shower?

If placing a shower in the tub alcove space, then you can keep the window, but make it a smaller, awning, tempered, vinyl window. Are you OK with the amount of natural light you will lose by changing from a block wall to a smaller window? If not, can you add a solar tube or skylight to bring in more natural light?
