Your house has simple, clean lines. It doesn't need ornamentation. I'd put more trees in your front yard. A few beautiful flowering ones. It's hard to see your landscaping. Is it varied, attractive and 3-season? Or is it full of sorry yews? It's in shade, it could be either. Needless to say, if it's full of sorry yews, you should improve it.

You already have a modern look. Window boxes do not belong on the house, so good choice there. Plantings look decent, so keep going with that look.

Front step and pavers, not so great. That's where you should put your $ and effort.

Adding a fabulous tree to the yard (go for it...buy one with size $$$), a Japanese kousa dogwood would be perfect for the yard. White flowers, berries in the fall, it grows tall and wide. A favorite. Give it lots of space.

Berries are not poisonous. You could eat the inside...kind of mushy, but a friend told me you can make a good jam with the right recipe.
