Despite being told this announcement was a bug and there were no changes coming, I did notice one change shortly thereafter: The mobile site now promotes the app up top. As for today’s login issues, I’m exclusively on mobile so I haven’t had issues with the GW url.

So now I go into discussions, click "the kitchen table" and it comes up with "Home & Garden Discussions". Huh???

Same. Starting last night I got a blank page when I use my bookmark for The Kitchen Table (and it's my second bookmark across the top so you know how long that's been there).

But I do have Kitchen Table listed under "other forums" on the side so that's how I'm getting there. I still have Hot Topics listed there as well. 🙁

I just noticed that my username also changed since yesterday. This is a name from many years ago, from some other glitch I don't even remember. So obviously what happened is broader in scope than a mere change of Houzz address.

Wouldn't it have been nice if they had told use the gardenweb url was going away?

Lucille, it’s not a changed user name, it’s a different account. I’ve just messaged you, if you’re set up to receive messages by email perhaps clicking on it will help.

Do the folks who got a blank screen recall if the url at the top showed gardenweb.com?

On my tablet it shows the gardenweb url and the blank screen. My phone I'm on now shows the gardenweb url. I haven't tried to sign in anywhere using h*ouzz.

Yes - my bookmarked link to https://www.gardenweb.com/discussions/kitchentable goes to a blank screen. I highlighted the 'gardenweb' part and replaced it with 'houzz' to get here. All my followed forums are still there in the sidebar.

And I never sign out of here on purpose - wondering why would anyone need to? Signing in here is a pain.

And I've noticed going back awhile that some of forums come up with Home & Garden Discussions as the page header, instead of the forum title - isn't that when it's through houzz.com?

Yesterday, I only had a blank page on my ipad. Houzz got me to the forums, but with no way to get to this one. I finally got here by searching on Google for ”home decorating conversations”

I wasn't able to read any replies on any post yesterday. I only tried once but wondered if work was happening in the background.

Has anyone notified Houzz/Emily?

I've had no problem getting here, but as has been said, Yahoo has wiped out my dozen or so old Inbox messages after 2022. I do have current ones from the past two weeks.

Chisue, i had some old emails with special messages that I saved for years and one day without warning Yahoo deleted them. Still mad about that.

So I logged in under my old h*ouzz ID, but it’s using my GW username, which is not the same as my h* username. Hmm. And this interface is quite different. THE PLOT THICKENS.

And now I have to figure out how to get to the forums.

update: got to the forums, er, ”discussions”. But I’m not happy about it. First my phone ”phone” and ”alarm” and ”clock” interfaces changed, now this.

Same here. So I googled the question and got some old forum and clicked on that link and this came up. I don't know how to make it part of my bookmarks.

I've seen no changes in the user experience today from prior days, on a PC and on a phone.

Lucille posted this last week on Sueb's Buckle Your Seatbelt thread. I think if enough of us initiate a support request it might get through. The direct link to Emily does not work because it's a gardenweb url but the help.houzz link does work. I'm sending my request under General Help where you choose Type of Request.

Hey all, I just checked in with our team, and it appears that there was a bug earlier this week that resulted in that banner being shown temporarily - the bug was the banner. :)

In the meantime, if you encounter any issues on the site, or have feedback to share, the best way to do that is by sending our community support team a ticket through http://help.houzz.com. From there, our team is able to get answers and provide your feedback to the teams that are actively working on site improvements and addressing any issues.

My iPhone iOS v. 18.6.2 is still happily using gardenweb.com on Safari. Here on my MacBook (Chrome browser) it's houzz.com. It's hosed on my iPad, currently updating its OS. I can get to the forums, but they are horrid looking.

I am on my phone and gardenweb is working but on the PC, I get a blank page so had to use Houzz.

I get nothing on my desktop so I put this thread in my bookmarks. It's the only way I can get on. My iPad is charging, so I'll have to see if it's there. I don't think it's on my phone.

Lily, will direct links help at all? Here they are - for now, anyway. Maybe you can click on each one and then bookmark it. (Editing to add, my name is now gone, so that is the next thing to figure out. This is Bluebell.)

I reported to Houzz, tho finding the right links wasn't easy! Sheesh!

Finally. The only way I could get myself back was via the bell notification icon and clicking on one of the comments. It threw me into houzz.com/discussions/home-decorating-conversations and that was the only thing that worked. Just Houzz.com on its own wanted me to use the app. If I did that, the tab icon was the DB for the Daily Beast. I actually googled if the Daily Beast bought Houzz and it said NO.

Per Houzzed support:

For me,

ths.gardenweb.com goes to a blank page as of this morning, as do some bookmarks direct to specific discussions.

houzz.com/discussions goes to the familiar Your Topics page and everything is the same when navigating from that point.

I don't use the houzz app, I don't browse this site via a smartphone-type of device.

Different prob but I contacted Houzz because I needed to delete a post and did not have an edit or delete feature to use on the app. I did on the web. This is the response I got - huh??

At this time, that function is not supported on the mobile app. However, we will share your feedback with the appropriate team.

Hello! There was a bug inadvertantly introduced last night that caused this issue. The fix is going out tonight and you should be able to access through the gardenweb urls again. In the meantime, for most content, you should be able to replace houzz.com where you see gardenweb.com in the url and get there. Sorry about the confusion on this one!

I got the blank screen yesterday, then last night it was OK, then this morning it went blank again, probably 15 minutes ago. Now it’s back 🤷‍♀️

Welp, GW is still with us. Wonder what that was all about.

I was shocked when I hit Kitchen table, and it actually popped up on my desktop. I hope I still have my name. I do see my old cat Henry, so I guess it will.

I kept trying to get in till after 8PM last night when I gave up. Nothing worked. What would I do without my daily KT!

It’s back! Funny how the bug affected some platforms and not others.

^^^ I’ve wondered how that happened to you and some others, not being able to change to the prefered screen name?

My username, changed during the bug, has remained. No big deal, and I don't want to fool with it because I might be changed into a HU (no offense to the HUs here).

@HU-279332973 Patricae, have you tried opening a new account with a different email address, like a burner gmail address? You could give yourself a Patricae2 name or similar and just sign in under that name.

Kitchen Table is working again when I use my bookmark.
