flooring dilemma

We are about to start a kitchen Reno and have a flooring dilemma. We have carbonized strand bamboo in the adjacent room and down a connected hallway where a wall will be removed to open up the kitchen. The flooring company has been out of business for some time and I am having a hard time finding a match and bamboo has gone out of style for the most part. I do not want to change my entire house flooring and all rooms connect with openings. My vision is to have the same flooring to make the space seem cohesive. I have found the best match on fb marketplace for an exceptional price with a couple of issues. We are having to run the boards in the opposite direction making due to floor joist direction change for updated coding and the width of the boards are 5 inches as opposed to the 3 3/4 of the original floor. Do you think this will look crazy? I have 4 boards from the seller to see how this would look. My husband is no help because he is tired of all the questions and he is colorblind. He says whatever. Help please.

Don't try and match it. Go with something like a tile again, vinyl if necessary but without wood grain. Or leave what you have for tile until you can change the entire downstairs floor.

You don't have much choices if, you're looking to use the same flooring. Just go with it. It will look fine.

Agree that looks like a good match - once it’s in, you will really look at it for 2 weeks and then you will get used to it and just enjoy it :)

Normally, I would say hard no, but they appear to blend pretty well.

What is just as important is what you are not showing or telling.....this:

What is the layout, what is the CABINET finish?

What do you plan for tops.....

and show the layout

Pretty good match I would say and IMO better than a completely different floor. I hope the seller has enough to do the whole kob and extra but it seems to work. Husbands rarely care at the end of the day they just want dinner . I think the bigger issue is the whole plan for the kitchen , are all those choices going to work with the flooring? While you at this why not get some good free pro help with the kitchen too. At least get an independant KD not some cabinet salesperson .

It doesn't match the range of dark to medium tone variation of your existing floors. And it's a different width. You can get by with it. The better long-term choice is to change all the floors if you can use the new floors to enhance the other choices in your reno.

I don't like to have an outdated finish control the outcome of the entire project. You end up with poor value for all your work and money.

As a person with limited funds but also tries to make my home look its best, I would use it. I'd play with some transition pieces to see if it would help not notice they're different.

I'd also practice on a piece using a gel stain in a color that matches the darker boards in your current floor. The FB stuff is missing those darker boards. I'd play around with gel stain and mingle some of those in the mix.
