I think having different backsplashes and different countertops would make your kitchen look choppy

The ridge choice will be lovely on your perimeter counters and I would use it as a back splash too. All the lines of tile are just so distracting. Keep it clean and simple. As for your island it's perfect as is. If you are set on change keep looking. The concrete is not going to be a 'lift'. 100% agree with getting rid of the odd stripe near your crown molding.

What are you trying to achieve? You might benefit from some inspiration images. Absolutely paint the stripe to be the same color as your kitchen cabinets, but also take a good look at your images. Your wall color in the space does not harmonize with the biggest finish in that room, your floors.

You are keeping white cabinets, and dark brown floors. Find images of white kitchens with dark brown floors you admire and use those as a guide for future materials choices, like backsplash tile. You might achieve more by painting your vent hood than changing your perimeter counter tops.

It can be difficult to focus on the overall look when you are choosing finishes, but do try. Keep in mind that all the cool grey you are trying to bring into the space will darken it, and may not go well with your warm floors.

Are the kitchen photos your actual space? If those are your cabinets, the structured lined mosaic is not in the same style of the more traditional space.

You might look to the greiges (as opposed to the frank greys) for wall color and tile to warm things up and work with your floors, your furniture, and your fireplace.

Thank you all so much! I will be getting the white shaker cabinets. i will definitely not do the 2 backsplashes i will also make sure to paint the line white between the crown moulding and the cabinets. Yes, it’s a motorhome that you see outside the window 😟.

I got hung up on the gallery wall in the family room (, maybe some editing there) and the need for a rug : ) by the fire.

If you are getting new cabinets you can get them to the ceiling and not have the painted soffits.
