John Deere E130 5 Year Review

last month
last modified: 24 days ago

I received my E130 tractor 5 years and 24 days ago. I have followed the JD suggested maintenance schedule and it has been stored in a weather proof shed in my yard. I live east of Raleigh N.C. and my yard slopes about 15 degree across the half acre of grass. The E130 is used for mowing the yards, and for many jobs of moving things around the yard. Roughly 2/3 to 1/3. Non mowing task include moving Plants, rocks, patio pavers, and wood chip mulch.

When I got it, I was concerned about all of the talk about the floating gas tank and the quick change Oil systems. The Tractor has no modifications. I have had ZERO problems with the tractor.

While I have been to the local J.D. dealer, it was only for the service kit and answers to a couple of minor questions. I have had a 20 year old J.D. LT155 Lawn tractor and needed to replace the bumper. I was surprised, they had the part in stock and I picked it up a couple of days later. I do not start my garden equipment without checking the Oil first.

Contrary to what people said about how bad the Quick Change System was and it would destroy the tractor, it has not. Today after Several oil minute changes, engine is as good as when I received it. Starts with no problem, no smoke, runs smooth, and no sights of any problems on the engine.

Yes I would recommend the the J.D. Tractor with the Quick Change system to anyone who asked and have to some people who did not.
