The scullery room fad is still trending? I'd have though people would come to their senses by now.

The flaw many not be the sink, it might be the PLAN?

I not really understand skullery but no way would I want a kitchen with no window . Who designed this ? For me the kitchen is the biggest deal for design. A well designed kitchen is the work of you and an indepedant KD to get perfect for how you cook . I like an open plan for a home to some degree but not always an open kitchen that depends I think on how much clean up you do as you cook. I trained in a commercial kitchen where your work space is kept clean so still works for me. I do not like a bathroom next to a DR or for that matter accessed from a kitchen . IMO a rethink of that whole space I can see but you need to provide some more info about the choices you are making Yes I need to see the whole plan please

The whole point of a custom design is so you don't end up with a tract/production builder inside kitchen with no windows.

What’s the purpose of the scullery to you and your family? We had a similar layout, minus scullery, in an old home and the range and fridge were swapped and there was a window above sink. It worked great but it was a renovation and we had fewer choices than you do in a brand new build.

I can't imagine building what looks be a good sized custom house and not having windows in the kitchen. We designed our house and we have a triple window unit, over the kitchen sink run, that is 10 ft wide x 5 ft high. The compromise that we had to make, and there are always some, is that the kitchen window faces the side of our property and not the backyard. The breakfast table and family room, with tall/large sliders, face the lanai, backyard and views.

My first question for you - do you cook much? It's not a "trick" question, many people today either eat out/get take out most of the time or just cook quickie meals. Is that you and your family?

If you do cook, I think the Kitchen needs to be re-thought.

And several other's comments - no window in the Kitchen even though it looks like you could easily add one (at least based on the very little info you've provided)?

Yeah, OP seems to be MIA. But if you're still here, I strongly agree with those who say that a kitchen without a window is a serious no go. And unless you entertain a lot and have kitchen help, using up all that square footage for a scullery seems debatable at best. More information would be highly helpful.
