Not sure I understand your problem. If the area shown is usually shady, why not use it for a bench?

1. buy bench
2. carry bench to back yard
3. sit

or are we missing something that you haven't told us?

I want it landscaped with bushes, flowers and a point of view. Asking for suggestions of what to use in that area, also should I use just grass or make stone, gravel or stones for under bench? Live in zone 5.

The person who does the mowing wouldn't thank you for those wiggles and stepping stones.

Is there a need for stepping stones or a sidewalk? I understand that you need a hard surface under the swing where your feet would scuff up the grass (pavers NOT gravel) but couldn't you walk on the grass to get there?
