I read about this case, too. It appears Okada doesn't owe Wynn, but, rather, the attorneys who represented Okada in the case. That's beside the point of your post, Kswl, I know, which is about this particular piece of art. I was just fascinated with the magnitude of the mess in which Okada found himself.

Yes, I saw that. I know that some copies of this print were given away free with noodle soup! Boggles the mind how a particular copy of a much-copied work can be worth that much. I noticed a version in the White Lotus credits!

Yes, that is very familiar. Okada will be selling other pieces from his museum to settle his legal debt. Its a shanpme. I hope the art stays where the public can see it.

For those coming to visit Philadelphia, I highly recommend stopping in to see it in the lobby of the Curtis Building. No charge. I always stop in when Im in the area. Unfortunately the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall are closed due to the government shut down.

Well I hope it just doesn't end up being forfeited to Steve Wynn. He tried to buy the mural (49 feet long, 8000 lb. Louis Comfort Tiffany/ Maxfield Parrish) "Dream Garden" from the Curtis Building. I have a feeling it would have ended upin a Casino, on the bottom of a swimming pool, or with shower heads poked through it.

He poked a hole in Le Reve (Picasso) with his elbow.

And coincidentally, he owned a Picasso that was damaged by a paint roller falling on it (while it was at Christie's for auction)

The Dream Garden mural is so beautiful. The fact that it's in a public building in Philadelphia for all to see makes it more special. How could a glass mosaic that large be moved? There is no longer a Wynn casino in AC, so if he had bought it where would it be now? These really rich people think the whole world is theirs for the taking.

Kitchen it seems they think it because unfortunately everything is for sale.

The Dream Garden is on my top 10 list of things I like about Philly. It is stunning. Thank god it was saved.
