What is the actual width and depth of the space? Rather than a bench you may want to consider a mini bistro table with 2 chairs facing each other - but you would need at least 4’ in depth there for one to pass by. Not a fan of a bench if you want comfort.

At first I thought that was a grille at the end - but I see it’s folding chairs. Have you tried facing them towards each other (close to the railing)….then a small bistro table between them - end table or dining height:

I like the idea of a simple, shallow bench between your two doors. But, it has to be comfortable to sit in, otherwise, what's the point?
