I did originally think the drapes would be hung like the “puppet show”, so since that wall will remain blank, do I need to move the art pair over?

Caveat, the tree will be updated to taller and fuller, ideally top heavy to balance the room. Because I will in future have a swivel tucked to the right of the tv console, I wanted the art there vs the tree.

I thought I saw a “roller” shade in the left hand corner of the window. Did you at one time have one hung there?
That could give you privacy when needed. But that view is pretty darn nice with all that greenery.
A tall plant to the right of the tv could still work with a swivel chair in front of it.

The roller shade was purchased for that window and never mounted. It will go up. The curtains are mainly for the softness and added coziness there. They won’t block the window.

It’s pretty tight there with a swivel chair….the depth of the room is not great. The tree would need to be somewhat on the corner then leaving the wall quite blank if I was to flip flop the art and tree….

Eyeballing where a 30” deep swivel would sit…not much room on the wall for a tree.

Same placement from a different perspective…not a lot of room.

Nora I must have missed the idea of having the large pot and 8 ft tree there on that side of the tv as well, but a swivel alone would work in that spot. David looks great in his new spot.

If you have a larger pot and fuller tree on the left then add two more pieces of art same frame size for behind the swivel then something interesting and rounded on your console right of tv in front of the art. Interesting vase maybe with some green to add some color bringing over the greenery of the tree.

Bring one of your chairs from the “hearth” room and play with that! It may be larger than what you’ll eventually get, but it will give you an idea for fit.

That pottery is so pretty! I actually have a vase very similar but the scale is smaller.

Bring it out, take another pic and post :-). Place similar art set up on the other side of your tv. That may be all you need. Maybe the “pouf” you have can be placed just in front of your console in front of the LRm window.

I already know the swivel will fit nicely, just waiting to find the right one, I check my local home goods a lot.

You can also use a square pot instead of a round to bring the profile down a bit if it seems to intrusive. Was there a pic posted a “few” post back that had a horizontal piece over the tv?

I need to find Jan’s rendering that Iam following in mirror image. , the tree is on the left and artwork is on the right, creates nice balance. The tree and the swivel won’t fit…the space is too cramped.

Do not add art horizontally over Tv. Will create a cluttered look.

Iam loving following Jan’s plan, everything I add from it looks great! I won’t add any horizontal art.

Mmm…Avairy, while I do like the layering of books and the sculpture, I usually try to away from the multiple frames like that, for one it’s busy and two, I have a very hard time loving a piece a of art, that would be a nightmare to curate for me…the symmetry serves me better and I love the art it’s self so Iam happy with that.

It’s looking very good! The tree looks fine on the left particularly because it’s not very heavy foliage wise…and it looks good with the David there. It creates a nice combo to have the plant and the sculpture together. I
When you get the swivel chair on the right hand side, you can decide if anything else is needed over there. For example, a tall lamp with the chair might fit. I see you have a lamp on the furniture there but a floor lamp might add some balance.

The point being I wouldn’t make any decisions until you get a chair happening.

No your room does not feel smaller your curtains go clear up so that adds height and you got the window view in with the curtains pull back and it has the full View so it looks cozy and comfortable and I love the light you put behind the plant I like lights behind plants so your room looks great! Hello! It’s been a bit, I would love to know if this artificial tree would be a good fit to replace that dinky one that’s there, it is much fuller and tall, is it substantial enough or do I need the fiddle fig specifically?

Would love some styling suggestions for this kitchen console. The mirror is about 5 ft tall. I tend to like a curated look and really don’t want it staged looking, for me that means meaningful pieces and if I need to purchase them I want to know what I should look for. I don’t own any pieces that are large enough scale in my opinion. I typically had a large plant on the left and my beautiful lamp on the right but the lamp was small and I love it on the front console now. I could do another lamp, just not sure with the chandelier if that’s best. Hope to hear from you all soon! Hope everyone is having a good summer.

Nor can we tell you, because you have to arrange things that are MEANINGFUL to you and we are not you.

Buying things.....is not the same as collecting. Curating means editing the meaningful pieces you've collected to those which look appealing together in the space, are most necessary for y.o.u. to display

Personally, I’m not crazy about the tree. Looks to “phony”. The fiddle leaf’s tend to look more realistic.

A tall vase with branches would be something I would add to the console. Candlesticks if you like to have candles lit in the evening. Doesn’t need much. If you have pieces you love but they aren’t the right size you can try setting them on books or other items to adjust the height.

Would you consider painting the wall to show off that beautiful mirror?

I know you love fresh flowers, so a low profile vase in front of the mirror would add some color too

Avairy, I would need to paint the entire room which is kitchen and hearth room, I can’t find a color I like enough to do that…the blue is strong but I really don’t use a lot of blue in my color pallet, just little pops. A feature of some kind on the wall behind the mirror might be cool if there is a nice way to do that…
I like the low vase with flowers, I also like the tall vase with branches and candlesticks. These are the pieces I will keep an eye open for.

You could just do the one single wall behind the mirror and leave the rest as you have them. I just picked blue for reference.

Sometimes a single feature wall can feel kitschy to me. If you come across any good examples of it done well I would love to see.
It has been my plan to bring the snowfall white into this side of the house, currently it’s colonnade gray, and then paint the buffet, possibly the island in something moody, add same moody panels to back of glass cabinets, all to being in some contrast and get rid of the white washed look. Am I on the right track?
