Did a little sewing

I'm going to a holiday party in a few weeks and there will be a white elephant gift exchange. I made 2 bowl cozies in holiday fabric for my gift item. It helped fill the time. Now that winter is coming i can't work in the garden and I just don't have much to do.

How cute those cozies are! Another use for them IMO is to hold that bowl of ice cream that’s too cold for hands. 🍨🥶

I haven’t made bowl cozies yet. Maybe next year. But, I learned to make a new bag! Having a lot of fun making them using up my Christmas fabric stash!

I've never heard of a bowl cozy. What are they for?

I've bought several at craft shows over the years. LOVE THEM!! Your recipients will, too. Great holiday fabric, very cheery. :)

Kendrah, they're for holding bowls (and I have two that go under plates) coming out of a microwave, to protect your hands from the heat. And, as KW suggested, can also be used to hold a bowl of ice cream.

Kendrah, I had never seen them either. Last year I found a set of four in my Christmas stocking. They really do protect your hands when removing something hot from the microwave, save you from having to reach for hot pads or oven mitts - + they protect table tops. I have a turn table in the center that matches my breakfast table base, but the table top is glass. When its just the two of us we eat most of our meals there in the kitchen. I know those bowl cozies have saved me countless scratches. I'd been adding an extra place mat to protect the table top from ceramic side dishes, no more.

    Very nice work, Rose!

    You too, Kathy.

I have used this tutorial. Easy to follow.

Do not microwave unless you have made them out of suitable material. Else spark, fire risk. There are tutorials on how to make microwaveable cozies.

I LOVE bowl cozies. I've made several sizes to fit soup bowls, dinner plates, and pint size cozies for ice cream (like Ben and Jerry's).

    Good job!
