Ah, this was the year that I was going to finally meet everyone in person, by going to this. Unfortunately, we will be driving back up from FL then, and there are numerous appointments, once we get back home. Hopefully, next year!

What time is the tour on the 18th? Trying to figure out if travel is possible.

We have not defined that. I guess, I would think maybe 11 or 12, and then grab lunch at LG cafe afterward?

Sort of backing up, if we have dinner at say 630 or 7? Allow 30 min for everyon to get there... allow an hour to get dressed, and 30 min for people to get to their accommodations from Longwood, we'd want to leave Longwood no later than 430.

So maybe start at noon?

12-1 walk Longwood gardens "LG"

1-2 cafeteria lunch at LG

2-3+ continued enjoyment of LG

3-3:30 travel time back to respective accommodations (I think most people are staying< 30 min away)

3:30- 6 chill and dish

6:00-6:30 travel to dinner (I think most people are < 30 min away

6:30-on dinner and frivolity (private room)

@jsk - yeah, I'm with you on wearing someone else's used clothing. New with tags I'd consider. Re: trying on something new in the store - it's only been on others a quick minute if at all which isn't long enough for much of them to rub off on the clothing. I do purchase used Crocs sandals because they don't make new ones any more (and I'm kind of addicted to them) but they can be scrubbed clean. I also bought a winter coat for DH that I promptly had drycleaned which cost more than the coat.

Anything I have that could be remotely considered formal is back in MN including shoes which would probably be the worst and hardest thing to buy that I don't really need. In any case I'm up for looking around for some kind of bargain bling for the occasion.

Okay, so my Princess event dress isn’t formal, but I wasn’t beheaded so there’s that. And I do need another event to wear it to. So I’m in. But I’m not in stilettos. Or heels at all, likely. (Will it be too early for bees? I hope so. They liked my dress and tried to climb up the sleeves and down the neckline…)

I will most likely wear the one nicer top that I own along with my Skechers slip-ons.

I have my Skechers, but only a somewhat newer cotton top. We'll be in the kitchen washing dishes, I guess.

I love spring and I love tulips -- would love to meet many of you, but I do not love flying (flying doesn't love me -- I have an ear that doesn't want to clear and it can be extremely painful), and I don't do formal these days. The TX photos were taken down before I saw the thread - hope to see some from this event.

I found a dress and shoes - well if I liked the dress when I tried it on. It’s long though and I like short dresses. And it’s early so I think I’ll keep looking.

Well, I was really hoping to join you all, especially since I missed the Austin one due to illness. But I've just booked a trip to Patagonia and will be returning from that trip about April 12th. It's just too much to turn around that quickly and leavE my sweet Vanny again, but I will make it to the next one!

4. My primary goal with this thread is to get a sense as to whether I can count on enough people to cover the cost of renting the room for our dinner party. So I am looking for a headcount of those who are firm Yes's, and Highly Likely etc. Many of you have already emailed me to let me know, so thank you.

5. Longwood Gardens is in Kennett Square PA. Some folks are staying there. Our dinner is in Malvern, Pa. Half way between is the cute town of West Chester, PA. Some are staying there. I think at last count there were three different airbnbs rented, and I know tell of at least 2 hotels people have booked (mostly Whitewing though). The Airbnb I rented was made available first come first serve and is now full.

6. As far as detailed logistics, I'd wait a bit and let that play out. Many people will be driving their own cars. Some may carpool from the airport. I think everyone's logistic needs will become clearer once I have a more firmed up list of attendees.
