A motorized awning could be the perfect answer since on not sunny days it is retracted to get good light Your large windows that bring in a lot of heat in the summer are best firted with solar shades inside to keep the heat and UV rays at bay but allow tyou to see the view It would be nice to see all sides of the house and aslo name the sides with the direction they face The 2 pics posted look like the same side of the house .

Thank you for your suggestions! Would the awning go the entire length of the deck, around 36 feet? That may not be in my budget as I do have a lot of windows!
The photo is facing the lake, East. The next photos are facing South. Again, the fire pit is on the Southeast corner where I have a large black umbrella. There are two windows on the south side ( a little difficult to see from my photos) that match the windows on the East side. That South part is beside the 16 foot screen porch. I have just added an addition (SW) to the back, on the other side of the South facing screen porch. It too has two large south facing windows that bring in a lot of light. All the windows have solar shade that let in some light, but also light even when the shades are down. All in all it’s a little overwhelming, what to do? Your suggestions will be much appreciated!
