Working with what you have….

last month

Finally! We have transformed our kitchen! I originally asked for ”advice” regarding how to choose the right paint color for our kitchen cabinets, and truly appreciated those who

”voiced” their opinions. We had cool white appliances and warm toned counter tops to work with and I would love to see what everyone thinks!

I can’t tell which is the before and which is the after but that doesn’t really matter because both of the kitchens are totally fine. Do you love the changes? That is what matters

I agree which one you love is the right one . It would be nice to see less clutter but thats it

Less clutter is always a good design choice! these pictures were taken the day after thanksgiving so we still had some cleaning up to do, the grey is the newer cabinet color, the brown was too worn to keep and no longer coordinated with tge adjacent spaces.

Looks great! I painted my 40 YO oak cabinets this year. It's a relief to be done with worn wood cabinets, isn't it?

since the painting was a necessity the green is a nice change....[or is it blue?] or gray??? one of those chameleon colors ?? ....nice choice. Altho, gray wouldnt be my choice for wall color to be honest .

You're happy and that's the goal . It will look fantastic at an appliance switch to stainless: ) when you can.

I'd also ditch the fabric valance for a natural woven wood shade.....and add that texture/warmth update.

I question whether you've got enough lighting in there as well, given the vault and no pendant over sink.?

( Three colorways, Chris Loves Julia)

    White . black, warm gray

    Any under cabinet lighting?

At this point the only thing that matters is that you love it. Enjoy.

Very nice! What color is the new cabinet color? It seems chameleon which is always good.

I don't usually like fabric valances but I think that one looks good with your colors and I spotted it right away and liked it.

Would you consider replacing the solid panels in a few of the cabinets with glass and muntin bars? The cabinets look good now but having some glass fronted cabinets in the mix almost always livens up a kitchen.

Thanks to everyone for the time you took to look at our pictures. i was hoping to replace the window coverings with a natural weave but was afraid it might look too busy with the countertops and also have this top window to contend with. (photo) There is a lot of natural light that comes in and it gets hot in the summer or id keep the upoer window bare. In light of this (pun intended) ive tried to keep the window treatments the same but i also do not lean toward valences and curtains usually.
