What should we do to enhance curb appeal

We are in the process of adding a front porch to our house to add some curb appeal. we need to decide what to do with the brick and board and batten. we wondered if maybe whitewashing the brick and then painting the board and batten a light color or black with the trim? or, staining the brick a light beige and paint the board and batten a similiar color. we are also putting in new windows and staining all the wood a dark color. any ideas?

The porch is a big improvement already!

Perhaps you could get more meaningful advice if you post pictures after your porch and window projects are completed. But I agree with you 100% that the siding color and the brick do not go well together. And the brick seems oddly tall, like highwater pants. Its height makes your house look squatty.
