A lovely holiday here. I am heartened every year to see the care and love my young adult kids put into gift giving (and even wrapping, natch). It is so sweet.

We had way too many gifts, but keep in mind some of these are things like a bar of soap or coloring book!

Home Goods wrapping paper for the win!

DD made travel toiletry bags for everyone! I am so impressed; she just taught herself to sew this year. This is the one she made the guys:

This is mine. She used different fabrics for DDIL and for oldest DS’s GF.

She and I are wearing the famous Gap NAP sweatshirts while watching basketball. She has been here since Tues., and oldest DS — who lives about 5 miles from us — also came home Tues. and stayed over until yesterday evening.

We still use the flannel fabric gift bags I bought over the course of a few years from the Company Store. For non-family, I use regular wrapping paper/bags.

Good for her, SueB. very nice work. having sewn for nearly 70 years, I can say that as somewhat of a sewing authority (blushing now.) I hope she loves it as much as I do; it’s very satisfying.

My family has one more birthday tomorrow to wrap up six days of merriment and gluttony—three birthdays and christmas between the 23rd and the 28th. Phew!

Wow thats a lot. we have the holidays and three birthdays, but over six weeks

My gift wrapping style has changed drastically since the arrival of grandchildren. For years I used pretty holiday wrapping paper with coordinating ribbons. When we downsized I gave it all to DD and switched to white paper but enhanced the packages with ribbons, bows, fabric flowers, non-breakable ornaments or holiday themed picks. It looked really nice under the tree.

Now that our family has grown and there are more gifts under the tree for the grand children I decided I didn't care for one use wrapping paper. So now just about everything is in holiday bags - both paper and fabric. The flannel lined ones I bought from Nordstrom are really nice. I also have some from other stores - Amazon, Rifle, Hallmark etc. Rifle has beautiful paper gift bags at half price now.
