I am not sure a chandelier is needed in a living room

Overhead lighting as the main source of lighing in a living room is not the most flattering of lighting. Table and floor lamps are more appealing.

Bare bulbs not too flattering. just a bright glare, rather light.

a 38" diameter for your size room. just a suggestion, look around, a drum shade is a great look.

I think in this case no chandeleir in the LR since you see both the DR and kitchen lighting from that space . That is a lot of hanging light to try to make work together . Concentrate on other levels of light instaed like floor lamps table lamps maybe even an arc lamp to light a coffee table . We can only guess of course since we have no idea what your space looks like. Post pics here in a comment of the actual space and the whole area including the kitchen and DR.
