What happened with your DEO from J&P, Cynthia?

Dunno what happened to DEO!! I had it thrive for one season then it inexplicably didn't survive the winter. It's supposed to be hardy, so I just chalked it up to one of those flukes that can hit in cold zones. I keep records of rose deaths and reasons (e.g. black finger of death, got stepped on, wimpy original plant) and this one got recorded as "failure to overwinter - unknown reason".

I'm hoping for a more consistent progress with DEO this time.

I'm such a sucker for dark red roses, I think I may also have to try it. I did get Black Caviar last season and it knocked my socks off. I'm still waiting for my Dark Desire to wow me.

Shine, I love the black, velvety reds. Black Magic is a must have, too!
