You are covering over real hardwood, with lvp??? Why would you do that. The hardwood, I see in your pictures is beautiful. If you dont want that color, have it refinished.

Whichever you like, get a box to layout in your space. You have to see the full range of tones you'll have. Also look at the thicker newly waterproof laminate products. Greys are not currently as popular as pale browns mimicking European Oak.

Never cover warm wood floors with gray plastic anything. It's a sin. And it rots out the wood, plus buckles the vinyl. It's contraindicated for every single type of plastic floor. You do not do that. You remove the wood, and remediate the subfloor first That is an industry wide installation requirement, even if you are dealing with a jackofall that knows nothing. You ruin 2 floors doing that.

You are really going down a bad dated road that was one of the worst design trends to ever exist outside fake olive garden grapes and leaves.

The existing floors are timeless and warm. Keep them. They go perfectly with both warm and cool palettes, although cold is over with. You will only damage them if you try to place new floors over them. That isn't how you do a new flooring project, ever. You remove everything and start over. But those need to stay, as is.

Depressing institutional gray went away as soon as everyone had to stay home with it, and there were so many people dying around them. It was overdone, and had the absolute worst possible choices done in it, aka, floors. Gray plastic floors are getting ripped out as fast as anyone moves into a bad flipper project.

I'd highly suggest working with a designer to help you make some changes to your existing house that don't erase the positives here. The changes you are proposing just clash with the bones, rather than complement them.

Agree with others. Covering hardwood with plastic - especially gray plastic - is an extreme downgrade.

By the way, the only thing Luxury about Luxury Vinyl Plank is the name. It’s plastic.
