Great question. In this case, I’d recommend going lighter for the shower floor rather than trying to match the exact tone. A lighter shower floor will keep the space from feeling too heavy, add contrast, and make the bathroom feel more open and clean.

With a tannish/mauve main floor, a dark countertop, and a walnut cabinet, the lighter shower floor will balance everything nicely and let the other elements stand out without competing with them.

is there a reason the floor tile can't be used as the shower floor as well? what are your shower walls?

I wish i could - my contractor thinks that the custom size of the shower (it’s 57x44) is too wonky for an envelope floor using 12x24 tile…

Does that tile come in other sizes? is it rectified? is ir recommended for wet use? and you still havent said what your shower walls are.
