F daylilies 2026

last month
last modified: last month

Today is for the F Daylilies……this seems to be going a bit quick, maybe its just me.

Funny for today: A smile is a facelift in everyones price range!

Faber Saber is my favorite yellow, it is a wonderful, consistent performer every season.

Fancy Buttons got moved last season. It is a small daylily and was getting crowded out. I hope it likes the new spot.

Flutterbye is another wonderful, consistent performer here. Lots of clumps for this one. It did great last season when others struggled.

Forest God, love these blooms. it has been slow to establish but will stay in the garden.

Forever Redeemed blooms always look great.

Fortress of Solitude has been slow. I need a few more seasons to see if it earns the space here.

Forsyth Flaming Snow has to improve to stay. A shame cause I love the blooms.

Maryl, I like Funny Valentine, a red I grew until the tree cutters scraped the bed it was in!

Sherry, Flutterbye is one I have always admired but do not grow for some reason. Good photo of Forever Redeemed and I agree it always does look good.

Forsyth Garet Mason (apparently needed weeding!)

Flight of Doves-I like this bloom-gently edged-looks like this in the morning

    And darkens during the day

Flying Fox-love the color but wish for more buds

    Fete Nuit

    Fried Green Tomatoes

    Frank’s Catnappin’ blooms low

Fires of Varanisi is a bright color

    Flight of Orchids is fabulous

Fancy Border is another with a gentle edge

    Festive Jousting

Farmers Daughter making a return last year

Forest God has so many lovely colors

    Fancy Needlework

    Florence Denny blooms are huge

Froggy is fighting a rose bush for space

I love Forest God in both gardens! Funny Valentine and Forever Redeemed are pretty reds.

Kate - Those clumps of Forsyth Garrett Mason and Flight of Orchids ring my bells.

Fancy Lace had good bud count and height in its first season in Hoosierland. It also rebloomed well.

Fighting Fire was short last year, but had nice fall rebloom.

Forty Days and Forty Nights put on a good show for a long time.

Sherry, that's a beautiful photo of Forever Redeemed. I also like Debra's Forty Days and Forty Nights and Fighting Fire and Kate's Flight of Orchids. What a beautiful clump!

    Here are my F's.

Faith Warrior has pretty flowers, but I am not in love with the plant habits. It's not in very good soil, though.

Unfortunately, this lovely flower does not grow in our garden. I photographed in the garden of a club member when she hosted the group for a picnic. It is False Eyelashes.

Feanorian Lamps makes a rather petite plant but always gives us some lovely blooms.

This is the first time Ferocious has bloomed for us. It has large flower on tall robust scapes.

I don't love Four Beasts in One. I don't think it's a very good grower and I have never been a fan of the sort of faded purple eye zone on a yellow flower. As you can see from the photo, the pattern is variable.

The color of Fugitive is so dramatic, but it remains to be seen how it will perform in our garden. We got it from a friend in our area, but if all it does is survive, we won't be very happy with it. It's a Maryott daylily, which typically do not do very well here.

    That's all for me.

Debra, I always love your Fighting Fire-so pretty.

Nancy, I totally agree with your thoughts on the faded purple eye/yellow blooms. Feanorian Lamps has such pretty blooms. I have Fugitive somewhere in the garden!! Never photograph it.

Kate: I really like your picture of Flight of Doves. Those 3 little off white blooms (zinnias) in the bottom left just make a wonderful composition. I agree with you about Flight of Orchids being fabulous.....Debra: Fancy Lace is very pretty with that nice edge to it.........Nan: I like the texture of the petals and the pattern on Feanorian Lamps.........Maryl

I can never pick a favorite since I like them all but Forest God is one I've added to my list to look for. I like the different color tones. Bud count appears low as does increase but every garden is different.

We are preparing here for the incoming storm and tundra cold. Not sure yet how much snow/ice we will get since the stats keep changing. Right now up to 12 inches but things can change.

Here is my 1 F. I could also use the "F" for failure in my garden.

Filled To Overflowing - not sure why I picked this one to come with me to WV but it really has not done as well as it did in NYS. I'll be moving it this spring to another spot and see if it does improve. Maybe overcrowding with other plantings around it.

We may get 8-12 inches of snow tomorrow and next week arctic cold. Janelle & I are supposed to teach Sunday School Sunday, but I can't imagine having class.

Sherry, Forever Redeemed and Flutterbye are my favorites of yours. Flutterbye does well for me too.

Maryl, Funny Valentine is a great color.

Kate, Flight of Orchids is my favorite of yours, I see why you like it!

Debra, Fighting Fire is a great shape and color.

Nancy, Fugitive is indeed dramatic. I hope it does well for you.

Julia, Filled to Overflowing is pretty and goes well with the flowers behind it.

    Flutterbye

    Fiordiligi

    First Light, my unregistered seedling.

Full Grown with Hot Wheels slipping in

    that's all.

What else is there to do on a Friday night when it is 5 degrees and -12 wind chill (and dropping) other than look at daylilies. LOL

    I love the following:

Sherry - Forest God - Forsyth Flaming Snow left my garden this past summer. I loved the blooms, but scape to fan ratio was poor and bud count was low.

Kate - Forsyth Garrett Mason, Fancy Border and Florence Denny are all lookers

Debra - Fancy Lace caught my eye

Nancy - Faith Warrior, False Eyelashes and Fugitive look great. I am sure Fugitive would struggle in my garden.

Brad - I always love Fiordiligi and your seedling looks great.

    Here are my contributions:

First up are the ones I saw at Cottage Gardens:

    FOREVER REDEEMED

    FULFILL YOUR DESTINY

FROM AGE TO AGE THE SAME

    FLIRTING WITH BLUE

    FROM SEA TO SHINING SEA

    Now from my garden:

FABULOUS FRIEDA - Love the saturation of color.

FOOLISH KISSES - A small Bennett intro

FEAR NOT - This is a wonderful plant. I think I am appreciating the reds more and more.

FASHIONAIRE - One of my favorite Bennett intros.

    FACE PAINT

FINDER'S DELIGHT - A Bennett that I am really liking. It has moved into my top 10.

    FORESTLAKE RAGAMUFFIN

FRIEDA ALLEN JERRELL - A favorite (I say it alot)

FEARFULLY AND WONDERFULLY MADE - 2 scapes per fan

    FIRE AND WATER

FOREST GOD - I have to wonder if we all got FG from Laura?

    FREAKY PEOPLE

That is all from me. Stay warm and safe.

    I forgot this one

FIRE ON THE MOUNTAIN - An attention getter when multiple blooms are open. Definitely a front of the border plant. Does take up a lot of space.

Julia, First Light is from 2017. I had to look it up. It generally has about 10 buds.

David, from Cottage Gardens I really love From Sea to Shining Sea; also like From Age to Age the Same. From your garden, I always love seeing Frieda Allen Jarrell. Fabulous Frieda is nice too.

Forever Redeemed also looked good here. It's not a fancy flower, but good color and solid performance.

Ferocious looks interesting. One wishes that Grossmann would keep track of parentage.

The Flight of Orchids clump, of course, is dazzling. Frieda Allen is very nice, just a slow multiplier here.

Interesting to see From Age to Age the Same. When it was introduced, I wondered whether it would actually be 33 inches.

    Forever Everett is a Hanson.

One of many looks of Davisson's Free Ticket

Free to Dance is a Korth that has grown well for me and, to me, is a very nice flower (not 6 inches).

Bachelor Party. How did it get here? I initially thought this was Frat Man.

Davisson's Flirts in Skirts looks promising.

Gossard's Fire Pegasus is a bright flower.

From Sea to Shining Sea is a deep velvety color. Fairly tall.

Fight or Flight is an interesting Emmerich, but not clump strength yet.

Fiesta Latina is a showy Selman.

    Moldovan's Flying Trapeze.

Hanson's Fancy Panties can be difficult to capture.

Fiesta Panties is colorful but short by nature. Flowers above foliage.

Facepaint is short. A Stamile evergreen, performance can be variable.

Four Beasts in One I got after seeing a nice clump at Crintonic. It may have been lost in a pool renovation at the estate.

Fear Not was especially brilliant. Scapes may be a bit low, but foliage is spreading, so flowers still show off.

Commenting from the middle of winter storm Fern, in the bullseye for ice and sleet and power outages. I currently have 2 inches of snow/sleet/ice on the ground.-mostly ice. It began last night, continued all day and will continue throughout the night and all day tomorrow. Ice is debilitating in my area with heavily forested areas (we live next to a national forest) bringing down power lines. However, in reality, an ice storm is a problem wherever you live!! In 1994, in that historic ice storm, I was without power for 23 days. I would prefer not to repeat that!!!

Brad, your First Light seedling always captures my eye; it is such a lovely color. David, Finder’s Delight fits the name. Frieda Allen Jerrell is one I always wonder why I don’t have-so pretty!

Mantis, Fiesta Latino is indeed showy. I like Flying Trapeze and Flirts in Skirts does look promising. Thanks to you and David for reminding me about Fear Not. I don’t know how I missed that one.

This is one of my feeders outside my window (blurry from obviously dirty window!) The problem with looking at it is that my power lines look the same way!! Ugh!!! And my pole is also struggling!! I need coffee while I can still make it! lol

Kate - I hope you don't lose power with all that ice. I see in the news that a lot of people in Mississippi don't have electricity. I'm seeing on Facebook that in my old Nashville neighborhood there are lots of trees and power lines down. Here we've got 7 inches of snow so far, and we will be living in a snow globe for most of the day.
