A contractor has recommended "solid polymer core flooring" for our bathroom remodel. We currently have tile in the baths and hardwood throughout rest of house. He maintains polymer core is the latest and greatest, and less expensive than tile. Thoughts???

You can ask how many bathrooms he has done. Which product was used. The manufacturer will specify installation instructions if they warranty their product for wet areas. What about the shower floor or wall over the tub? I wouldn't mix a wood look product with real wood.
