R daylilies 2026

Show us your R daylilies today.

Real Wind is a lovely oldie……I love the colors in this bloom. It will always be in my garden.

Red Suspenders took awhile to establish but I am glad I had some patience with it. It has had good bud count the past two seasons. It is tall here and large blooms, at least 7”.

Rosy’s Cotton Ribbons has been vigorous in a short time here….such luscious color.

I have two clumps of Ruby Spider, one didnt bloom last season. This clump did great. The big red blooms are welcome in the early season.

Thanks for posting Rosie Cotton's Ribbons. It looks wonderful. Your photo of Ruby Spider is beautiful.

I wanted Raspberry Suede for years and finally got it. I love the color. The texture does look like suede.

Rattlesnake is an oddly colored flower.

    Remembered Kisses

Richard J Howard bloomed for the first time last season.

Rosemary's Tango always looks lighter than its registration photo. It was bred in Canada so maybe temperature has something to do with that. In my experience, higher temps can lead to lighter colors.

    Ruby Grandeur has lovely color.

    That's all for me.

Sherry - Lovely photo of Rosie Cotton's Ribbons!

Nancy - Raspberry Suede looks velvety. I like the looks of Rosemary's Tango in your photo!

Rainbow Maker is one of two diploids I still grow. It did not do well last season.

Reckless Girls had lovely blooms but only bloomed on one fan last season.

    Red Kaboom was new.

Rosie With a Ring had some nice blooms. It's planted in bad place. Maybe I'll be able to move it this year.

Royal Invitation had lighter petal color during the stretch of days in the 90s.

Razor Sharp X Spacecoast Night Vision had a good first year here and rebloomed a bit.

Ruth Watkins Davidson is a pink I like a lot. While it always rebloomed in Nashville, it did not rebloom here.

Debra, your Razor Sharp seedling is very pretty. I hope it continues to like its new garden. I also like Rosie with a Ring. We are getting some nice seedlings out of it when crossed with Cherry Pie a la Mode.

Nancy, Raspberry Suede is very pretty. I see why you wanted it! I like Ruby Grandeur too.

Debra, I really like Royal Invitation. Rosie with a Ring is also pretty.

Red Viper is tall and large as well as well budded. Gives great shows.

Red Volunteer is a great color. Good plant for somewhat shady area.

Regal Finale is a nice late. It needs lots of sun to bloom well.

Rob Cobb is tall, well budded and great in the back row.

    Royal Occasion is very late.

    Red Grace

What a great group of R's. I think my favorite is Real Wind. Such a unique color. I grew it here many moons ago, but in our heat it never looked like Sherrys......Debra Your Razor's Edge seedling is one of your prettiest seedlings........Kate: I love the color on Retreat Beach. That clump shot is gorgeous............I'll post one that was new last year. Daryl Apps daylilies can do well for me even in our heat. Unfortunately he's passed over now. Will see how this holds up this year:

    Royal Decorum:

Rob Cobb is a Webster, I see; typically plants with good height. Darrell Apps's recent plants I don't see displayed very often. Rich in Mercy, Raspberry Suede, Remembered Kisses--all nice pics. Among those pictured that didn't do well here last year--Red Venom, Robed in Splendor, Reckless Girls.

A big seller on the Lily Auction listed Richard J. Howard, with an unusually frank comment that the plant could be quite unstable, even for broken colors, but that the cultivar still had merit. (He didn't sell the plant.) It will be interesting to see your experience, Nancy.

Ruler of Nations had more blemishes than usual last summer.

Rogue Primate looked good even after hot sun.

Rainbow Mesa can be quite attractive.

Rainbow Maker here also did not do as well as this pic from 2025. It is, as Debra has noted, modestly budded.

Riot Act can be quite a showoff, but doesn't like hot sun.

Rose Masterpiece had a very good year.

Rapture at Sea, around 5 inches, a Hanson.

Roses for Dallas, a Davisson that is shorter than registered here.

Ring Nebula, a Derrow, around 5 inches. Will see what it looks like at clump strength.

Ring the Bells of Heaven. This Carpenter grows well. Sometimes slightly blemished.

Ruby Storm, a bouquet bloomer that is quite showy.

Royal Girls. As Kate's pic shows, it is vigorous.

Hanson's Resist had a very good year.

Requiem for a Dream is a Hanson with good height and a pristine chiffon lavender/orchid color.

Rogue Wave, a Hanson, had a good year. Wonderful gradation in color.

Redheaded Hussy is a brilliant and rich Davisson.

Korth's Rock of Refuge has yet to prove itself here.

Gossard's Rainbow Butteerfly has a black-red color that makes a garden statement (but no pics with a pattern). Darker than pictured.

Korth's Reign in Me is a rich dark color.

Carpenter's Royal Extravaganza is a large flower.

Hanson's Rhinestone Cowboy is recovering from division.

Rosie with a Ring is still recovering from division.

Mantis, I suppose I am in the pale lavender zone today as I am really drawn to Rapture at Sea and Requiem for a Dream. Rhinestone Cowboy is really pretty as well.

David, Runaway Romance is my pick-love that pink!

Julia, we are 6a here. I, like Maryl, go by the old zones. Yesterday, I heard a local meteorologist say that the winter prior to this one was "mild." My immediate reaction was "You lie!" They were telling us, correctly, in January 2025 that January was one of the coldest in decades. True, we did not have the over two-week period this year (from January into February) in which we did not rise above freezing. But both winters were colder than normal.

Mantis and Kate - Royal Girls keeps calling to me. I love that color, so I will plan to add it at some point.

Mantis - Reign in Me is striking. If I had it, I would cross it with Soli Deo Gloria. Rapture at Sea has such pristine color!

David - Runaway Romance is my favorite of yours!

    Julia - I am in Zone 6A.

Kate and Maryl - The Razor Sharp seedling was splotchier here than it had been in Nashville. It multiplies very well.
