How to style this space?

Hello Houzzers. I recently refinished this beautiful mid-mod dresser and placed it in a space to the left of my linen closet. I use it to store extra bathroom necessities. I would appreciate some advice on how to style this space. Although it would probably look great, I don't want to add sconces because I already have two modern sconces on the wall going up the stairs. I'd like to put a lamp on top of the dresser and some tall-ish artwork above it but I'm open to other ideas.

The ceiling is 8 feet tall. The back wall is 80 inches wide and the dresser is 32 inches wide and 36 inches tall. Thank you in advance for your suggestions.

Edit:

I added 4 photos of the upstairs hallway going to the right of the linen closet. Then I added some photos playing around with various mirrors, art, and accessories that I stole from other areas in my house. Thoughts?

Are you sure that's the best place for that piece?

It's going to look a bit odd w/a lamp. maybe a very tiny lamp could work.

I'd just find a narrow piece of art to go above. it can't be anything wider than the top.

Or, maybe a tall, thin mirror, w/some books, a vase...

to me, that piece is too narrow for that wall, and it seems to come out too far.

You'd be better off with a shallow console there.

or maybe a bench like this?

The door, does it open out? If so, you will have to move the chest farther to the left.

    Would this happen?

Move it and open the door and take another photo.

this is nice, but the art is too small for that spot.

    and the corners look bare.

IMO, this spot isn't the best location for that piece.

I would try in the corner, either wall.

I think it just needs a lamp and a small decorative box. For the wall, small prints in a row.

I don’t think that it is a good fit for that space too deep, too tall and too heavy looking. Perhaps something lower and longer would be a better fit

What is across from the dresser? A mirror would look good because this is a tight squeeze and giving the illusion of a window would open things up. But, only if the mirror reflects something you want to look at.

    Play with staggered shapes?

It's at the top of a stair? Maybe just a slim bamboo in a pot to the left, and a pretty, simple lamp on the chest, keeping the clutter to a minimum?

Top of the stair is alarming in itself. No chest, console, or any furniture. Large piece of art and a new home for the chest.

The cabinet does not belong there .the space is tight already .

Is there anything else to the right besides the linen closet? Does a hallway or anything go that direction?

It doesn't look too tight to me with the chest but you're there in the space to feel it. If it's just the linen closet I think it's fine. If that's a popular path to other rooms then it may feel better moved into the corner space more.

Thank you all for your comments. Opening the linen closet door prevents me from using anything wider than what I have there (32 inches). Although it may not be ideal, I do want to use it because it's very useful. This is why I'm relying on the Design Dilemma experts for some creative options. I already like some ideas, including artwork or a mirror above the dresser; a plant or objects on top; and maybe something like a tall urn or tall-ish pottery to the left of the dresser. All of your photos REALLY help! I'm going to add a few more photos to show the adjacent spaces.

I find the dresser’s location feels a bit of an afterthought/just trying to use (may feel different in person). It’s lovely though.

IF interested AND you don’t use the table and chairs, test the dresser at the other end under large art (keep what’s there if complementary or move it to top of stairs). Then focus on creating a cozy area: dresser, art, window treatment, and if room…a reading chair or plant.
