What type of sink would you use in a kitchen that will have matte black countertops? In my old kitchen there was a black (porcelain?) triple sink which I loved but after many years it had lost the sheen and no matter what I did...it always looked dirty. I'd hate to buy a similar sink and have the same issues. I'm seeing stuff like "fireclay", "granite", "stainless"... but except for stainless, I'm at a loss as to the differences, pros and cons. Thanks!

Stainless. 16 gauge is thicker than 18 gauge (though some would say it doesn't matter for a kitchen sink; regardless I looked for 16 gauge.) I like stainless sinks with a sound-dampening coating on the underside.

I think there is no wrong answer here and ultimately ends up being a personal preference.
