Thanks for your reply buyorsell. I have multiples too - 6 total with 4 in one bed. My fave is ”Golden Gate”. I like the limey / yellowish color leaves & its nice shrubby shape. For more than 5 years I’ve been cutting to ground when I see new growth sprouting from the ground. This year, with the warmer winter & early spring we’ve had, I wanted to try something different. Early spring I cut them all down by @ half. When they started sprouting from the upright stalks & from the ground, I cut just a bit more off stalks & cut out weak stalks & all the lateral spindly branching. I’m hoping the taller ones bloom earlier & also that the 2 Golden Gates don’t get too large for their alloted space in their long bed that also has Hostas in it.
