It looks like a pleasant porch. To me, the point of a porch is to sit and view the garden. You have a palm facing the sofa. Can you put a few more items in that garden? If it's really dry, perhaps an arrangement of rocks, but there are plenty of pretty native plants that do well with low water. What's on the trellis facing the chairs? Is it fake greenery used as a screen (why?) or a lovely, flowering vine?

Something natural like woven wood or bamboo would look a lot nicer than fake greenery. It looks tacky and fades.

If you click on the words 'perennials' and 'vines', scroll to the top for more choices. They even a page for plant combinations. Since we don't know in what part of Arizona you are located (Tucson area, Flagstaff, etc. which can have different climates), you would need to check for plants that are adapted to your specific region. Check with a local nursery if you can. I would also suggest going with native plants as they will probably do best. And add more (in number) colorful pots might help, too. It looks like a relaxing spot!

I think the arrangement before was fine but if you can swing it i would get new comfortable furniture. These look a bit uncomfortable to my eye. Something with cushions would be better. Also agree with forcing the turf. Also agree with plants.

Thanks or the update. The seating arrangement now is nice....the patio is less cramped. The table is still blocking the visual flow out into the yard.
