If they are in good condition and still sturdy, I would sand them all down and prime them well with a sealing bonding primer, and then paint them, with cabinet paint. I would also replace the hardware on them.

What is the quality of these cabinets and are you a DIY'er? If you are not a DIY'er, quotes for a true factory finish paint job will be expensive - where they take the drawers and doors and finish them off site and use cabinet quality paint finish. You may be spending nearly what it costs for new cabinets.

Use a stain pen in the meantime to get you through. I've bought an extra few years on cabinets using them!
