I had that issue the other day but I was spelling the name wrong and the address was not in my address book. Worked fine once I spelled the name right!

Xfinity migrated our email to Yahoo recently and I am still figuring it out.

For some reason it accepted the email addresses on the fourth try. Who knows.

I migrated my primarily-used account to Gmail many years ago. It immediately seemed more stable and robust then and has ever since. Yahoo mail can be squirrely at times and I find their habit of periodically changing the user interface unnecessary and annoying.

You can forward mail traffic in one account to another - as in, using Gmail as the front end to access your Yahoo account. Since most individuals keep email addresses for people they correspond with in Contact files anyway, and companies have account records, it's usually no imposition to ask people (or companies, for those you interact with) to change the email address they use for you. No reason to continue having problems with one, when others are available.

We kept being locked out of yahoo until finally they fixed whatever issue they were having. I have issues with hotmail now, can only log into it using an alternative means to logging in such as an email address that a code is sent to. I cannot just log into it using a password.

That is really disappointing but I am thankful that you mentioned it. My primary email is Comcast and I have never had any problems with it. They haven't changed mine yet but as RNMom said xFinity is migrating their email to Yahoo.

This might be the time to open a new email account. Now that most of my financial records are email based I'd like one account to share with DH. I handle all the bills while he handles the investments but if we shared one account we would both have access to it. And it would only be for financial records, bills, bank statements, insurance etc.

I also have a hotmail account and I like their format, it is very similar to xFinity. if I want to keep it I should probably update it.

Neither of us care for gmail. It might make sense to use Outlook for a shared email.

I've always avoided using an ISP's service, preferring to keep the flexibility to change service providers. Whether an ISP does or doesn't allow former customers to continue, it was never worth taking a chance.

I have a Comcast connection at one location and have always found its email interface (that I check every 6 months or so to clear out) quite clunky. Switching to Yahoo may or may not be an improvement, I give them a 3 or 4 out or 10 score for their UI too.

I presume Yahoo email or others interact transparently with things like the contact book and digital calendar as does Gmail, of course, with its apps for iPhones and Android phones. When people or businesses send me "invites", for instance, for meetings or other events, or even for things like hotel and plane reservations, it's almost always with a Google calendar-friendly invitation. Gmail automatically picks out plane flight info that arrives in an email and puts it into the calendar.
