Investigate cluster pendants. You won't have rods, adjustable height, it will fill up all that empty air space.

Hi Lyn see pic attached. We just moved here a couple of weeks so ignore the mess we r still unpacking. It is one open space, kitchen, dr, great room. I spoke with a lighting manufacturer and he stated I would need (6) 18" down rods and didn't recommend it because they may not stay straight.
