I think the main focus in the room is the stove and the view behind it with the front entry door. The chair/ottoman blocks it.

How do you come up into this room front the front door? From the kitchen and up the stairs where sweet dog is lying?

I think you have done the best you can for furniture layout, once you bring the chair/ottoman over on to the rug.

The terrarium...any other spot for it in the house?

Speaking of the rug.... you could do better, thicker, richer in color.

Thank you- the door that you are seeing is actually to the pantry and laundry area. I am waiting to live with it a bit but I think I want to have it frosted.

The boys rooms are down from the kitchen and our bedroom is upstairs. I like to read by the fire, so I put the chair there- it is a well used stove/fireplace.The boys rooms are quite small- so no room for the terrarium. I could put him in my bedroom, but I don’t prefer that option. The only other place would be the dining room or kitchen, and neither of those appeal to me :(

Agree, no other spot for it. Hoping because I thought grouping all your plants in that corner by tv, would be striking. I am out of ideas, but you are in the right spot for others suggestions.

I would love to group my plants together- that is what I did in my old house…it’s a conundrum for sure!!!

Try bringing the chair/ottoman onto the rug...you can still enjoy the warmth of the stove and clear the path to the stairs.
