Standard Low-e blocks a huge contingent of the fading potential from UV spectrum. The only way you block more of the fading is by limiting visible light. Which is the very thing that many folks are looking for.

There is a decent bit of reflectivity in standard Low-e. If, however, you have back lighting in the winter, folks will be able to see in.

I would be careful about any films. Some can create overheating issues for the glass.

You betcha. Best to just wait until winter and see what it looks like from outside. You have plenty of space above the door to mount some nice drapes/blinds.
