We missed you at Tulipmania! C diff is terrible, one of our kids had it and I am so sorry you ended up with it as a tesult of your treatment. Glad you are better and please put the last weekend i Frbrusry 2027 on your calendar for Florida!

Indigo Rose, I understood your post to say the probiotics were precautionary and not tat you had c-diff. My mom got c-diff when in a nursing home after an untreated UTI left her weak and dizzy - she fell and broker her hip. After surgery, she was in the nursing home for PT and recovery and was doing well before the c-diff outbreak started with another patient. I hope that is not what you have been going through. Pneumonia would be plenty. Hope you are well now or nearly there. Take care.

Indigo, I hope you are 100% soon. I missed you at Tulipmania! My mom also got C diff when she was in a rehab hospital for a broken hip. It is a horrible, awful illness. Take care of yourself.

C- diff is in the rehab areas more so than others because of deficient cleanliness techniques. Every bed side rail every walker every stethoscope, hands… you name it. People come in depleted circumstances and are much more likely to be victims.

We lost 2 dear friends to C- diff due to rehab negligence. I begged the families to do rehab at home , nevermind the cost. To no avail.

I hope your initial issue of the hiatal hernia which caused the reflux, which caused the aspiration pneumonia is being resolved. You are in my thoughts and sending strong healing to you. c

Thanks, everyone. Lascatx, yes it was full blown C-Diff. I''m doing much better., not quite back to normal but the precaution of probiotics is hopefully to avoid a re-occurrence...I had no idea that I have a Hiatal hernia (sliding) as I've had no symptoms, but I've been reading about the percentage of those with HH who go on to develop Barrett's esophagus, which is scary. Now onto another issue developing over the last few months. Good grief - years of only having an annual physical and dermatology check-up and now feel like I'm falling apart. Oh well! Still Trailing, not certain it was aspiration pneumonia, but at least I didn't need hospitalization. I guess some good news!

Thanks for letting us know about the precautions to take with antibiotics I had no idea! I hope you continue to get stronger and stronger

I'm so sorry you have been going through all that -- and that I misunderstood and didn't send my well wishes earllier. I was staying quiet since I wasn't invloved in the tulipmania things. Keep mending and taking care of yourself so you can get back to those annual appointments again.
