Need help with kitchen remodeling

We just changed our flooring in the kitchen and the kitchen colors are now me. The cabinets look too white for the flooring and we need to replace the countertops and backsplash. I need help with color and design options please !

I don't think the cabinets are too white, I think the counter and backsplash are just too dark, making it look too stark. But if you don't like the kitchen being too light, what color scheme do you want to go with? Warm or cool?

For me the counter seems okay but the baksplash seems dated and why cut off 1/2 the natural light with that shade ? The wall color to me is a much bigger issue than the counter for sure.

I wouldnt jump to change the cabinet color. The lighting is funky so i would improve that first.

    answer these

1 . What colors are in your home? 2 Is it all taupe and tans? 3 Do you want to bring any color into the space?

The paint needs to go. The backsplash too. I am not a fan of your counters but they could work if you changed some of the other things. Answer the three main questions before we can make suggestions.

My home colors are warm beige and browns. I like a little bit of color but nothing too egregious.
I like a clean look, but not a sterile hospital vibe.

Here are more pictures of the kitchen to give you idea of style. Ignore the old tile. All the tile has been replaced with the new ivory tile.

If it were mine I would start with just changing the backsplash & wall color first & see if it changes my perspective.

Is your granite Colonial Gold? Hard to tell from your photos but it looks like it might be

Not sure if it is exactly colonial gold but looks very close. Here’s a close up !

I guess the next question is do you like your counters and do you want to keep them if possible?

I’m open to both options. It’ll depend on how everything ties in together

If you keep your current counters I would recommend a backsplash change , a paint change , updating cabinet hardware and a window treatment fabric change. Choosing a window treatment that ties into the colors that are in your granite, paint, tile, floor.

What a refresh! That looks so nice. Thank you!
My appliances are stainless steel. Would the brass clash with that? Or are those two acceptable to mix?

The most egregious thing in your kitchen is the lack of a vent hood above the gas cooktop. For the health of your family, I hope there’s a plan to remedy that in the renovation.

Stainless steel appliances are = to a neutral. You don't have to worry about them when selecting faucets/cabinet hardware/lighting fixtures.

People have been mixing finishes for quite a few years now - so even if the stainless steel appliances weren't considered a "neutral," you could still mix some brass in with the stainless steel color.

There’s a downdraft in the cooktop

I think you are fine with brass and stainless steel. If you don't like that idea you could do a Polished nickel as that is also considered a warm alternative .

i wouldn't paint those cabs. they're in rough shape.

remove the ornate trim pieces, the crown and reface w/uppers that go all the way up.

get solid wood doors and drawer fronts. THEN paint.
