I can't believe you had blooms starting on May 2. Is that the earliest you've ever had daylilies bloom? Last year I had a couple start blooming the first week ofJune. I don't know if I'll have any bloom that early this year. I have lots of scapes starting.

You know, when it’s almost time for the season we will take any bloom!! The petunias are really pretty.

There is such a variety of petunias nowadays. I like the rich color on yours, and the spattered blooms seem a separate plant (I see lots of the spattereds at garden centers).

Debra, yes it is the earliest ever. But the daylily didn't really like it. My Amaryllis didn't like the weather this year, barely bloomed. However my red Asian lily is fantastic. I need to get a picture.

Always exciting to see the first bloom of the season. Foliage here also took a hit from the 90 degree days but I have faith that the daylilies will rebound.

I've talked to several people and it seems as if their gardens are a couple of weeks early too. I know my daylilies are almost all scaped up and it's not even June.......Love the deep purple Petunias. I bought one purple petunia because it was soooo incredibly fragrant that it grabbed me by the nose and wouldn't let me go. The white cabbage butterfly that comes around in July here decimates the Petunia and Calibrachoas unless sprayed (which I won't do), so it's too expensive to invest in them for just a couple of months. But the fragrance on some of the Petunias is just heavenly.......Maryl
