Dream backsplash, all Handpainted

It's almost hard to believe the before and after of the kitchen, but after many, many hours we finalized the DIY portion of the kitchen with the icing on the cake-our handpainted Delft-inspired backsplash. The entire kitchen was designed, sketched, painted and baked, and then hung and grouted by us and we couldn't be more proud. Now for a new dishwasher to complete the kitchen and we will as happy as can be.

Amazing result! A true labor of love. Your photos are great and showing us the overall effect first then zooming in for close up pieces makes it so easy to ”feel” the flow of your space. I do like your choices of white uppers and what looks like a navy or charcoal base cabs. The colors go well with the existing flooring and the effect is warm. All white cabs would have been ’just’ another white kitchen & the hand painted backsplash, the star of the show, wouldn’t be the highlight that it is. Great job & especially great job creating your personal vision! Thanks for showing & sharing with us.

It is too bad the back spalsh doesn't photograph well. The close up pics are beautiful, the over all effect at first was confusing. The bottom cupboards want to be white.

Beautiful! I especially love those birds and the (braided? spiral?) trim piece, and your clever use of an underwater scene under the counter. I bet you'll find something fun to love and focus on every time you use your kitchen. Great job!
