I love Heart of Glass and Rumba Numba. Looks like Enter Laughing is showing off again. I kinda like Celeste’s seedling….adds a bit of contrast to the garden. I wish you could share some rain now. After the wettest spring on record, May is really dry. I have some yellowing foliage on daylilies that are in full sun all day.

Sherry, that’s the way my foliage looked in early May. This rain perked them up pretty fast. The rain has been relentless in the southern part of the state with massive flooding. So I try not to whine too much. (Even though mosquitos are as large as bats!!!)

Kate, lovely bunch of flowers! Pink Panther Paws is my favorite. Others I like a lot are Dearest Valentine and Bubblegum Queen.

Going Big Time, I see, is a Pierce. It looks as though Flight of Orchids is off to another good year. Bubblegum Queen is lovely with its green throat. I suppose the low bud count is due to its being a young plant.

Yes, Mantis, Flight of Orchids has been reliably good in the blooming category the past few years. Bubblegum Queen has been blooming for two weeks-these blooms showed darker today compared to the earlier, lighter blooms. It is also usually a reliable rebloomer.

So many I could comment on because they are eye catching but I'll start with Pinewood Lily Pad. I got that one this spring from Korth(along with several others) so hoping it at least provides one bloom. Enter Laughing had always done well for me in NYS. Rose Pink Sparkle would look so good with taller scapes. Looks like your season is rolling along just fine after such a bad start with the weather. Hope you got the trees all taken care of.

Pretty picture of Dearest Valentine, and lovely shot of Bubblegum Queen! Like Mantis, I noticed its low bud count. Don't most of yours have fewer buds this time after being in a drought most of the Spring? All of the clumps look great. It looks as though Pink Panther Paws is starting with a bang. The bloom on Going Big Time is very pretty!

You know how much I like your Pinewood Lily Pad, and Pansy Face Charmer appealed to me last year. Have you posted it this year? Pansy Face Charmer registered at 22" is short for a large flowered daylily, but I remember its face being particularly charming (hence the name)......Maryl

Julia, I hope Pinewood Lily Pad blooms. It is striking. I remember Enter Laughing in your garden and when I had the opportunity to grt it I did. It’s not frills and fancy but I like the simplicity of it.

Debra, you know I don’t count buds but Bubblegum Queen has been blooming for at least two weeks so I haven’t noticed a low bud count. I have had a few that definitely did have low bud count but not an abnormal number. And yes, I am sure drought impacts them.

Maryl, I have posted Pansy Face Charmer. It has never been 22 inches!! I have to stand over it and bend over it to get my photos!!

reat Post, Kate. Rumba Numba always looks so good for you and isa purely pitiful here. It obviously does not like where it is living. Enter Laughing is beautiful and I alwys really love Pik Panther Paws. Rose PInk SAparkle is pretty even if it is short. Dearest Valentine looks good this year and my Bubblegum Queen has darkened also though not as dark as your. It also has been blooming at least a couple of weeks and usually has three pretty blooms. Humungousaur is such a large tall one. Wonderful post, Kate.

Thanks, Kay. I wonder why Rhumba Numba does not play right for you! It’s funny how some do that. I agree that Rose Pink Sparkle is a pretty bloom. Just a few more inches would help it a lot!!
