the blinds look custom and would be wise to leave them. they impart a more clean look and the space is not large so I'd pick a tulip table. they are classic . they can be incorporated into many various styles . the seating choice could be personal preference.

The "vote" option is not applicable--what is to vote on? If you had 3 different table/chair options, that would make sense. But you've just presented photos of the actual space, which would be more helpful if you just added the photos instead of making anyone click on them to see just what you're asking.

Here’s a couple of ideas for the space. Regardless of what you go with I would recommend a larger light fixture and have it hang lower than what you have now.

I really like the table and chairs from Pottery Barn that Diana posted, so I thought it would be fun to see in your space. A bench seating can give you a bit more space.

The PB set in your space looks great--I like the casual vibe, and the color of the wood. The blue fabric on the chair backs adds a nice contrast. And the bench seating is charming.

Don't worry about the poll issue..it's easy for someone not familiar with the site to select that by mistake - it happens fairly often. And you will find some people here get their panties in a knot when someone uses the word "modern" when they really mean more current. 'Modern is a design style, as in mid-century modern, but the general population uses 'modern' to mean more current rather than actual MCM style.

We often have friends over and everyone ends up in the kitchen. For a budget, I was hoping between 1,200 to $2,000

Please no long bench along the wall where no one can get out without a huge mess. Do your guests all love sitting on stools ? I think a nice round table could be good and some nice colorful chairs , no rug .
