Blooming in Indiana on Thursday

A line of strong storms went through last evening through early morning. There was some damage in the area, but we only got heavy rain--3.25 inches. The flowers looked great today although some were a little water spotted.

Thunderbird Dancer took its sweet time getting established but it looked great today.

I am really loving Lonesome Jaguar.

Heavenly Lavender Babe is a great grower but I don't love the flower.

Heavenly Stuck on You is another great grower with a huge flower that I don't love.

The color on I Could Have Danced All Night is rather variable. Sometimes it is more coral and today it is more rose.

Indigent Hobbit is a tetraploid by Bret Clement. He does a lot of dips (all those with cat names) but he also hybridizes tets.

John Jacob Jingleheimer Schmidt was a little splotchy because of the rain.

Marquette Moment is a nice flower with a robust plant and tall scapes.

Maynard Max was hybridized by a friend of ours.

Orchids for Minnie made a nice clump today. I wish I had taken out the dead blooms behind it.

I think Shades of Meaning is a pretty polychorme.

Sportin' Life went into a decline a couple of years ago. It looks like it has recovered.

Sunny with a Chance of Wine was looking better today. The other day the red markings were really pale.

Here are a couple of seedlings we like today.

This is our daughter's seedling. It is (Sonoran Desert Rose x Spacecoast Alpha Wolf) X John Jacob Jingleheimer Schmidt.

This seedlings has been around for years. We thought it would be an introduction but the voles got to it and it took awhile for it to recover. We thought the edge was too little but now I am wondering if it worth registering because of its nice pink coloration. It is Belle of Ashwood X Gypsy Rose).

This one was almost discarded, but today it caught our eye. It is Charmed Existence X Marilyn Lee Bock.

This was my favorite seedling of the day. It is Colorful Chaos Nelli x (Love All Serve All X On Your Knees You Will Find Him).

Maynard Max your friend did a great job. Orchids for Minnie is a lovely clump. Charmed Existence X Marilyn Lee Bock. is my favorite seedling, but then I am drawn to dark purples with frilly edges, Colorful Chaos Nelli x (Love All Serve All X On Your Knees You Will Find Him). is a pretty one too.

Big WOWzer! on Thunderbird Dancer. Usually don't like the off white ones, but the color and shape of the pattern are appealing - and the off white color is almost white in your picture. Impressive.......I'm drawn to Orchids for Minnie too. Hope to see more of it......I like your rose pink seedling. Especially if the circle around the eye is prominent. That and the edge are bonuses.......One day maybe I'll have one of those splattered colors daylilies. Yours is a nice one in yellow..............Maryl

I love that photo of Thunderbird Dancer! I wanted to order that one this Spring, but Derrow wasn't selling this year. David's photos of it are always so nice. My John Jacob J has buds this time but is not open yet. I look forward to seeing it here. I'm glad you love Lonesome Jag. It's a favorite here. All the seedlings look good. My favorites are the pink one and your daughter's seedling.

Lots of notable looks here! I love both the photo and the name on Thunderbird Dancer (probably due to the Thunderbird cars I used to own!!). Orchids for Minnie is such a pretty color and clump. Markette Moment and Sportin‘ Life are both eye catching. I like the seedlings and I do very much like the color on the Belle of Ashwood seedling.
