What if you purchased cut flowers of each rose, and propagated the stems? You could get 3 good cuttings from each stem. Surely they are available there in France!

BTW, do you have to deal with fungus diseases, especially black spot? I'm assuming you don't because here in Pittsburgh, PA, zone 6b, I used to grow fig trees in 10 gallon (38l.), pots, which fig trees grow best in climates with minimal rainfall from late spring until late fall as is the case in SW France, especially in the Bordeaux regionwhere my favorite fig varieties grow.

II had quite a collection (16 trees), of varieties from everywhere in the world where figs grow naturally. They were brought inside and stored in my cold fruit cellar over winter.

My favorite varieties were the Bordeaux figs, hands down. Petite Nigra and Violette de Bordeaux produced figs that define what a fig is! Rich flavored, with a flavor profile being a combination of: raspberry, blueberry, and strawberry, sweet as honey, tol. This describes the flavor of Violette de Bordeaux, an 'unfiggy' taste surprise.

Figs grow very well every year here, but because of the humidity and steady rainfall all year long, ripening issues abound. Figs must have completely dry weather to ripen properly. When it's wet, fig quality suffers. The rare dry fall here was a blessing from heaven, making the fig harvest spectacular....wet and humid=mediocre.

I no longer grow figs. My collection is dispersed. Health issues.....
